What is Essential Driver Training?
EDT Driving Lessons Castlecove
Fact! Ireland has one of the worst road death statistics in Europe. The Essential Driver Training Syllabus was brought in by the Road Safety Authority to help combat the situation.
This EDT requires that all learners must complete a minimum of 12 hours of essential driver training by an RSA approved driving instructor.
These 12 lessons were created with the intention of filling in the vital driving skill gaps that young drivers had which were leading to the high level of road accidents occurring each year.

Getting yourself ready for the Driving Test in Castlecove
Pretest Driving Lessons Castlecove
Training to pass the driving test is completely different from learning to drive. Long before sitting the driving test you should have the necessary skills and understanding to drive without putting your life or the lives of others in danger. Pretest training is about understanding the driving test itself and how you can beat it.
If your test is booked there is a lot of unknowns and fears to contend with. Fear can distract even the most experienced of drivers. Our approach removes all the unknowns and associated fear that comes with it.
It is standard practice by many driving instructors to keep giving you lessons until they 'think' you are ready. They 'think' you are ready but they do not really 'know'. That is because of a total lack of understanding on how the tester thinks and marks you during the test. This is not how we do things. All our instructors have been trained by ex-testers so they fully understand the driving tester and what they are looking for from you on test day.
We're not in the business of gambling on your success. We simulate for you all 4 stages of the test, teach you all the test routes and focus on the areas of your driving that are most likely to get you the most marks or fail you.
Using this method we get our student past the test in half the time it takes other driving school. Passing fast means you save money.
