Essential Driver Training: The history?

You may not know but many years ago Ireland had one of the worst road accident records in Europe. In an effort to control these stats the Road Safety Authority implemented a new and mandatory training initiative for new drivers. The Essential Driver Training or EDT.
The EDT consists of 12 compulsory lessons that must be delivered by a RSA approved driving instructor to all learner drivers.
This 12 lesson syllabus has been designed to ensure young drivers practice vital driving skills and develop a more comprehensive understanding of road safety.
