What is the EDT?
EDT Driving Lessons Durrus
It is an depressing fact that Ireland is one of the worst countries in Europe for road deaths and accidents. The Road Safety Authority had to do something so they designed a new training syllabus that all new drivers had to complete. The Essential Driver Training or EDT.
The EDT syllabus requires that 12 structured driving lessons have to be completed, stamped and uploaded to the RSA website by a registered ADI.
These 12 lessons were created with the intention of filling in the vital driving skill gaps that young drivers had which were leading to the high level of road accidents occurring each year.
That's the 'whats' and 'whys' of the EDT.
Preparing for the Test in Durrus
Pretest Driving Lessons Durrus
First you must master the rules of the road, the road signs and skills involved to control a car safely. And then there is learning to pass the driving test. Being allowed to drive by yourself on Durrus roads is a freedom you must earn and the driving test is your chance to do it. And naturally, as with any test, if you understand the conditions and what to expect you can pass easily.

We're not in the business of gambling on your success. Our pretest training fully simulates the 4 different stages of the driving test and fully prepares you for the way the tester will talk to you and how they mark the test sheet.
