If you hold certain foreign licences, a reduced course of six lessons may apply, so tell us which licence you have. Twelve manual EDT lessons cost €587.95. Spreading the lessons over a few weeks helps each skill settle before the next one is added.

Getting ready for the test
Tramore to the Waterford centre
Waterford is your nearest test centre, 9.6 km and about 10 minutes from Tramore by road. Dungarvan is about 45 minutes away, Clonmel about 60 and Tipperary town about 90. Waterford is the natural choice, and your later lessons spend time in the area around it. Test day needs only a short drive.
The pretest is one hour of driving in the area around the Waterford centre, shortly before your test, and it includes car hire for the test. The test is taken in the car you learned in. For an automatic learner, the pretest and car together come to €193.81. You can book it on the phone or online.

Learning in Tramore
Tramore streets, then Waterford
The first lessons stay close to where we collect you, so you can learn the car without distraction. Strand Road and Monvoy Road are next, after you can start and stop cleanly. Old Tramore Road comes in for longer drives, and later lessons head toward the test centre in Waterford city.
We name one meeting point in Tramore, Ardscoil Na Mara, for students there. Home and work are simple to arrange as well. You are dropped back after the hour, at the same point or another agreed in advance, at no charge.
We teach in Dunmore East and Passage East too, with the same prices and an agreed pick-up point. The nearest of those, Dunmore East, is a distance of 10.6 km in a straight line. Waterford city is 11.4 km away, so if you work there, we can collect you at work.

Your logbook records Essential Driver Training, one signature for every lesson. Keep it with you between lessons and bring it each time. Twelve signatures in, and the EDT part of your training is finished. Being ready for the Waterford test is a separate question, and your instructor answers it honestly, without adding hours.

As a student at Ardscoil Na Mara, can I be collected there?
Yes. Agree the school as your pick-up point when you book, and your instructor meets you there at the start of the lesson. Afterwards you are taken home, at no extra cost.
Is the Waterford test centre close to Tramore?
Close to 10 minutes, covering 9.6 km by road. It is the nearest centre by far. Dungarvan, about 45 minutes away, is the alternative if Waterford cannot offer a date that suits.
Can my driving instructor in Tramore pick me up at work in Waterford city?
Yes, if that is the point we agree. The lesson can start at work in Waterford city and end at home in Tramore. Collection is included in the lesson price either way.
How many lessons will I need?
The 12 EDT lessons are the starting point, or six if a foreign licence qualifies you for the reduced course. After that, it depends on how you progress. Your instructor tells you honestly when you are ready, without padding the course.
