Driving lessons Stradbally
Stradbally lessons, the essentials
Our driving lessons in Stradbally give you one full hour each time with an Approved Driving Instructor, collection at an agreed point and honest advice on when to test.
Meet at Barron Hall
Barron Hall is an easy meeting point, though home, school or work are fine as well. The lesson price includes collecting you and dropping you back.
Approved, with a brake each side
Your Approved Driving Instructor teaches in a car with dual controls. Chapel Road and High Street can be among your first drives, with that support beside you.
Lessons without stress
No raised voices, no rushing. If you are nervous, your instructor keeps each step manageable and repeats it until it feels routine.
Straight talk before Dungarvan
You are told honestly when you are ready for the Dungarvan test. If you are not, you hear what is missing, and nobody sells you hours you do not need.
Manual or automatic
Both are taught. A manual pass lets you drive either kind of car, but passing in an automatic adds code 78 to your licence, which means automatics only.
Preferences welcome
If you would like a female instructor, mention it when you enquire. We take that, and anything else you tell us, into account when matching you.

Manual driving lessons Stradbally
Manual lessons from Stradbally start with clutch, gears and moving away smoothly near your pick-up point. Chapel Road and High Street are then where junctions, signals and steady speeds are practised. Nunnery Lane comes in as your control sharpens. Manoeuvres follow one by one, and the drives grow longer. In the final lessons you head toward Dungarvan and the area around its test centre. Your instructor lets you know plainly once your driving is at test standard.

Learn in an automatic
Automatic driving lessons Stradbally
Automatic driving lessons in Stradbally take the clutch away, which leaves you free to concentrate on the road and the traffic. The course is otherwise identical, from Barron Hall pick-up to the pretest near the Dungarvan centre. Think carefully about the licence. An automatic pass carries code 78, so you may drive only automatic cars, whereas a manual pass lets you drive both. Car and instructor are confirmed for Stradbally at the enquiry stage.

Getting ready for the test
Testing in Dungarvan from Stradbally
From Stradbally, Dungarvan is the nearest centre: 13.5 km, about 15 minutes by road. Waterford is about 35 minutes away, Clonmel about 55 and Mitchelstown about 80. If Waterford offers a much earlier date, it can be worth the extra drive, and your later lessons move to its area. Otherwise, Dungarvan is the obvious booking.
Close to your test date, the pretest is one hour behind the wheel near the centre you chose. Car hire for the test is included, so on the day you sit in the car you practised in. In a manual, the pretest and car hire together cost €183.63, booked online or by phone.

Barron Hall is the one meeting point we name for Stradbally, useful if your house is hard to find. Your home, school or job will work as well. At the end of the hour you are dropped back at your agreed point, and none of it costs extra.

EDT and the test
The EDT: a guide
Every EDT lesson gets a signature in your logbook, so you can see how far through the course you are. Bring it to each lesson and keep it safe between them. Once all 12 are signed, the course is finished. Whether you are ready for Dungarvan is a separate call, made honestly by your instructor.
