Driving lessonsCounty Clare
Your instructor collects you from an agreed point in your Clare town. The hour you book is an hour behind the wheel, in a manual or an automatic.
Driving test centres in County Clare
In County Clare the RSA holds car tests at Ennis, Shannon and Kilrush. You pick the centre when you book. Some towns near the county line are nearer Limerick (Woodview) or Nenagh, and the list below puts them there.
Lessons begin in your own town, not at the centre. We collect you from an agreed point, home, school, college or work, and the first hours stay on quiet roads. Only the pretest moves to the area around the centre you booked.

FAQ
Clare lessons, a few good questions
Which test centre should I book in Clare?
Whichever suits you best. The RSA tests at Ennis, Shannon and Kilrush, and you can also book a centre outside the county. Tell us where your test is when you enquire, and the pretest lesson is planned around that centre.
My village is not in the form. Can I still learn with you?
Ring 021 2355558 and ask. The form lists the places our booking system takes bookings for. We will tell you plainly whether an instructor can collect you from yours.
Is an automatic car an option for Clare learners?
Yes. We teach automatic for EDT and pretest. Instructor hours differ from town to town in Clare, so we confirm your instructor and the car when you enquire. Remember that an automatic pass gives a licence for automatics only, code 78.
Do I have to finish the EDT before my Clare test?
Yes. Essential Driver Training is twelve lessons with an Approved Driving Instructor, and a learner permit holder completes them before the test. Your instructor signs each one off in your logbook as you go, so you always know how many are left.
