Driving lessons Ardfert
Why learn in Ardfert
Our driving lessons in Ardfert start at your agreed pick-up point and last a full hour. Because the Tralee centre is so near, the pretest and the test itself fit easily around school or work.
Home or community centre pick-up
Every lesson includes pick-up and drop-off at an agreed point in Ardfert. That can be your house, school or work, or Ardfert Community Centre if meeting there is easier.
An ADI for every lesson
You learn with an Approved Driving Instructor, approved by the RSA. The car is dual-controlled, which gives nervous beginners a safety net from the very first hour.
Lessons without pressure
Nobody shouts. If you need longer on the basics before lessons head toward Tralee, you get it, and the next step waits until you are ready.
A straight view of readiness
We will not book you in for Tralee just because it is close. You hear plainly when you are ready, and what to work on when you are not.
Manual or automatic
You can ask for either. Learn in a manual and you can drive both types afterwards, while code 78 on an automatic licence keeps you to automatics.
Say who you want
If you would feel easier with a female instructor, say so when you enquire. We check who can teach in Ardfert and confirm it before you book.

Manual driving lessons Ardfert
A manual course from Ardfert starts with the basics at your pick-up point: seat, mirrors, clutch and moving off. Gears and junctions follow, then reversing and parking once your control is steady. Every new skill gets as many hours as it needs. Later lessons head into Tralee, so the area around the test centre is familiar long before test day. When you can drive a full hour with only directions from your instructor, you are at test standard.

Automatic driving lessons Ardfert
Automatic driving lessons in Ardfert suit learners who find the clutch a distraction. You still learn observation, positioning and judgement, just without gear changes. One thing to weigh up first: an automatic pass puts code 78 on your licence, meaning automatic cars only. If you might ever need to drive a manual, learn in one. Car and instructor are both confirmed for you at enquiry.

Getting ready for the test
Test day from Ardfert
Tralee is the nearest test centre, 9.8 km and about 10 minutes by road. That is short enough that test day needs little planning. If the wait there is long, Killarney, about 45 minutes away, or Newcastle West, about 60, may have an earlier date. We prepare you for any of them.
Book a pretest for shortly before your test: a one-hour lesson near the Tralee centre, with the same car hired to you for the test. In a manual, that costs €183.63. It also gets you used to the area around the centre. Nothing about the car is new when the examiner sits in beside you.

We collect you from home, school or work in Ardfert, or you can meet your instructor at Ardfert Community Centre. Either way, you are dropped back at the same agreed point unless you ask for another. We agree it when you enquire, and it costs nothing extra.
