Driving lessonsAnnacotty
Lessons start at the point we agree, at home, at work or at Castletroy College after class. When the test comes round, Woodview is about 15 minutes away by road.
Annacotty lessons, start to finish
Our driving lessons in Annacotty run for one hour each, with an Approved Driving Instructor and a dual-controlled car. The aim is a test at Woodview that you walk into prepared.
Collected after class
If you study at Castletroy College, your instructor can meet you there when the day ends. Home and work are fine too, and the pick-up never costs extra.
Second pedals, approved teacher
Your teacher is an Approved Driving Instructor, approved by the RSA, in a car with a second set of pedals. That safety net is there from your first drive along School Road.
Patience as standard
Some learners arrive nervous, and that is fine. Your instructor keeps the car calm and the pace yours, and Dublin Road can wait until you ask for it.
Ready means ready
We tell you when you are ready for Woodview, and we say so just as plainly when you are not. You hear what is missing rather than a pitch for more lessons.
Two gearboxes, two licences
Learning in a manual gives you a licence for both kinds of car. Learning in an automatic spares you the clutch, but the licence you earn carries code 78.
Your say on the instructor
Tell us what matters when you enquire, and if you would prefer a female instructor, say so. We take your answers into account before we match you.

Manual driving lessons Annacotty
Manual lessons in Annacotty start near your pick-up point with the parts that feel strange at first: clutch control, gear changes and stopping smoothly. When those settle, you practise junctions, roundabouts and the manoeuvres the test asks for. Ballysimon Road and Childers Road come next, with longer runs in higher gears. Your instructor tells you at the end of each hour what went well and what the next one will work on. Near your test, the lessons move to the area around Woodview.

Automatic driving lessons in Annacotty leave out the clutch, so the early hours are spent on steering, mirrors and road position instead. The test is the same one, at Woodview or elsewhere. What changes is your licence: an automatic pass adds code 78, so you are licensed for automatic cars only, while a manual pass covers both. We confirm an automatic instructor and car for Annacotty when you first get in touch.

Annacotty learners pay the same as every other town on our list. Collection and drop-off at the agreed point are counted in each ticket.
EDT lessons in Annacotty
Essential Driver Training is the set of 12 lessons every learner permit holder completes with an Approved Driving Instructor before the test. In Annacotty they start from your agreed pick-up point like any other lesson, and each one is signed off in your logbook before you finish.
Holders of some foreign licences can do a shorter course of six lessons instead, so tell us where your licence is from. For everyone else, the full course in an automatic costs €659.24, and the manual price appears on the EDT ticket.
The EDT guide ↗Your Woodview test from Annacotty
Woodview is 8.8 km by road from Annacotty, about 15 minutes, which makes it the natural first choice. If its dates do not suit, Shannon is 32.7 km and Nenagh 34.3 km, each about 25 minutes, and either may offer something sooner. Tipperary town, at about 40 minutes, is the furthest option.
Before the test, we book you a pretest: one hour in the area around Woodview, or whichever centre you picked, shortly before your date. The car for the test comes with it, so on the day you drive the one you know. The manual pretest with car hire is €183.63.
Lessons on Annacotty roads
Lesson one stays near where you were collected, so you can learn the controls without anything else to think about. After that, drives move onto School Road and Golf Links Road, then out along Dublin Road once you are steady at higher speeds.
Castletroy College is the one named point we can collect you from, which suits students heading straight from class. Otherwise it is home or work. We agree the spot when you book, and you can ask to be dropped at another point agreed in advance.
Castleconnell and Murroe are both on our list, at 6.3 km and 9.4 km in a straight line. We teach across the Clare line in Parteen as well. Learners there are collected in their own town, just as you are in Annacotty.

The EDT: a guide
Think of the logbook as your receipt for EDT. Each of the 12 lessons gets a signature from your instructor, and the book stays with you between lessons. Bring it every time you are collected in Annacotty. When the last page is signed, the conversation turns to your test date and the pretest.
The EDT guide ↗ Preparing for the test ↗A few good questions
How far is Woodview test centre from Annacotty?
The drive is 8.8 km and takes about 15 minutes. That short trip means the pretest and your final lessons lose little time getting there. Shannon and Nenagh, both about 25 minutes, are the next options if Woodview is booked up.
What if I want collecting at Castletroy College?
Yes, if we agree it as your pick-up point when you book. Your instructor meets you there and drops you back, or takes you home if we agreed that instead. Lesson times depend on your instructor, and we confirm them when you enquire.
Is an automatic lesson dearer in Annacotty?
An automatic hour costs €61.41, a little more than a manual one, and that gap is the same in every town we cover. Both prices include pick-up and drop-off at the point you agreed.
