Driving lessons Castleconnell
Castleconnell lessons explained
Our driving lessons in Castleconnell are one hour long, with an Approved Driving Instructor beside you and the pick-up included. Each one is planned to bring a test at Woodview a step closer.
Met off the train
If you commute, Castleconnell station is a pick-up point we can agree, so the lesson starts as you arrive. Home and work are options too, all at no extra cost.
A second brake, an approved instructor
Your instructor is approved by the RSA and the car is dual-controlled. From your first hour on Station Road, the person beside you can brake if needed.
Calm lessons, nervous or not
Some people start lessons tense, and that is normal. Nobody shouts, the pace is yours, and Coosane Road waits until you ask for it.
A clear answer before Woodview
We tell you honestly when you are ready for a test at Woodview, and what is missing if you are not. Nobody pushes extra hours on you.
Manual or automatic
We teach both. A manual pass lets you drive either type, while an automatic pass adds code 78 and limits you to automatics.
Choose who teaches you
Tell us your preferences when you enquire, including if you would like a female instructor. We look at them before deciding who teaches you.

Manual driving lessons Castleconnell
Manual lessons in Castleconnell start with clutch, gears and steering close to your pick-up point. Once moving off and stopping are routine, junctions, roundabouts and reversing come in. Cromwell Road and Coosane Road take you further, with time spent on speed, mirrors and planning ahead. Your instructor sets the next step at the end of each hour, based on what you managed that day. The last lessons are given over to the area around Woodview, so the test feels familiar.

Learn in an automatic
Automatic driving lessons Castleconnell
Choose automatic driving lessons in Castleconnell and the clutch drops out of the picture, leaving the gears to the car. You still learn everything else, and the test is the same one. The licence is not: an automatic pass gives you code 78, so you can drive automatic cars only, while a manual pass lets you drive both. We confirm whether an automatic instructor is free for Castleconnell when you get in touch.

EDT lessons in Castleconnell
Essential Driver Training is required of every learner permit holder: 12 lessons with an Approved Driving Instructor before the test. In Castleconnell they begin at your agreed pick-up point, the station included, and each one is signed off in your logbook.
EDT is ordinary driving, done in a set number of lessons and recorded as you go, so you never feel you are studying for a separate exam. Some foreign licences qualify for six lessons instead. In an automatic, the course of 12 costs €659.24.

Getting ready for the test
From Castleconnell to Woodview
Woodview, one of the two Limerick centres, is 15.4 km from Castleconnell by road, about 20 minutes. Nenagh is 29.8 km and about 25 minutes, so it is worth checking too if you want an earlier date. Shannon takes about 30 minutes and Tipperary town about 40. We prepare you for whichever you choose.
Close to your test, the pretest gives you an hour in the area around the centre, then the car for the test itself. Manual learners pay €183.63 for the pair. It means the car on the day is the one you have been learning in since Castleconnell. Book it once the date is confirmed.

Learning in Castleconnell
Where Castleconnell lessons take you
The opening lesson begins near where you were collected, so the controls get your full attention. Station Road comes early, followed by Cromwell Road and Coosane Road as your speed and observation improve. Each hour picks up where the last one left off.
Castleconnell station is the one named pick-up point we use, which suits anyone arriving by train. Otherwise we collect you from home or from work, agreed with you when you book. Drop-off can be the same point or a different agreed one.
We teach in Montpelier, 4.1 km away in a straight line, and in O'Briensbridge and Clonlara in County Clare, at 4.4 km and 4.6 km. Learners in each are collected in their own town and book with us the same way.

Castleconnell questions
A few good questions
Can my lesson start at Castleconnell station?
Yes. If we agree the station as your pick-up point, your instructor meets you there and the lesson starts straight away. You can be dropped at the station again or at home, as arranged.
Is Nenagh a good alternative to Woodview?
It can be. Nenagh is about 25 minutes from Castleconnell by road, only a little further than Woodview at about 20. If Nenagh has the earlier date, apply there and we plan your pretest around it.
Do I pay extra for being collected?
No. Pick-up and drop-off at your agreed point in Castleconnell are in the price of every lesson, the EDT course and the pretest. You can pay online or by phone.
What happens when I contact a driving instructor in Castleconnell?
We ask where you would like to be collected and whether you want manual or automatic, then pair you with an Approved Driving Instructor. You need a theory test pass and a learner permit from the NDLS first. Reach us through the form or on 021 2355558.
