EDT lessons in Clarina Village
Learner permit holders must complete Essential Driver Training before taking the test. That means 12 lessons with an Approved Driving Instructor, each signed off in your logbook. From Clarina Village, every EDT lesson starts at the point you agreed with us.
You learn as you go, with no list of lessons to study beforehand. If your licence came from abroad, some countries' licences qualify for a reduced six-lesson course. The manual course costs €587.95, and the automatic one is shown on its ticket.

Castlemungret is 5.2 km from Clarina Village by road, about 10 minutes. Shannon is the next nearest, 22.4 km and about 20 minutes away in County Clare, while Newcastle West and Ennis are both about 35 minutes away. If Castlemungret has no suitable date, try Shannon next, then the other two.
The pretest is booked for shortly before your test: one hour in the area around your centre, plus the car for the test. With Castlemungret this close, very little of that hour goes on travel. The automatic pretest costs €193.81. Ask about it on 021 2355558 once your date arrives.
Roads around Clarina Village
Lessons begin near the point you were collected from, so you can learn the car before anything else. Main Street comes early. Then Mungret Road and Dock Road take you further, adding speed and planning, lesson by lesson, as your control improves.
Ballybrown Community Resource Centre is the one named meeting point we use here. If home or work suits you better, that is fine. Agree the point when you book, and your instructor drops you back there, or at another agreed point.
Patrickswell is 4.0 km away in a straight line and Kildimo 5.7 km, and we teach in both, as well as in Cratloe across the Clare border. Learners there are collected in their own town, the same as in Clarina Village.

Bring your logbook to each EDT lesson and hand it over at the end. Your instructor signs the page for that lesson, and when all 12 are done the course is complete. In Clarina Village, with the test centre so close, the step from logbook to pretest can be a short one.

Can we meet at Ballybrown Community Resource Centre?
Yes. Agree it as your pick-up point when you book, and the lesson starts and finishes there. If you would rather be dropped home afterwards, arrange that in advance and your instructor takes you there.
Do automatic lessons cost more in Clarina Village?
An automatic hour costs a little more than a manual one, and both prices are on the tickets. The difference is the same in every town, and pick-up is included either way.
