Driving lessonsBallinroad
The Dungarvan test centre is about 5 minutes from Ballinroad by road, so test day starts close to home. Before then, your instructor collects you for every lesson at a point you agree.
Ballinroad lessons in plain terms
With our driving lessons in Ballinroad you are collected at an agreed point, drive for a full hour with an Approved Driving Instructor, and get a straight answer on your progress.
Collected from college
Saint Augustine's College can be your pick-up point if you study there, and home or work suit just as well. The lesson price covers the pick-up and the drop-off.
RSA-approved teaching
Your Approved Driving Instructor teaches in a dual-controlled car. With that support, Clonea Road can be one of the first roads you drive at a steady speed.
No pressure, no shouting
Lessons stay calm from start to finish. Nervous learners go at a pace that suits them, and each skill gets as much practice as it needs.
Ready for the test? We say
With the Dungarvan centre so near, booking early is tempting. Your instructor tells you honestly when you are ready, and what is missing if you are not.
Clutch or no clutch
Either can be used for EDT, the pretest and the test. A manual pass covers both kinds of car, while an automatic pass adds code 78, for automatics only.
Your preferences matter
If you would like a female instructor, say so when you enquire. Anything else that would help you feel at ease is worth telling us.

Manual driving lessons Ballinroad
On a manual course from Ballinroad, you start with clutch, gears and pulling away smoothly near your pick-up point. Clonea Road and Coolagh Road then give you room to practise steady speeds, junctions and mirror checks. Grattan Square follows as your confidence grows. Manoeuvres come in one by one. With the Dungarvan centre this close, later lessons can include its area at no extra travel. Your instructor says so directly when you reach test standard.

Automatic driving lessons in Ballinroad take the clutch and gear lever away, so your full attention can go on observation and road position. The rest of the course is the same, including the pretest near the Dungarvan centre. Before you choose, look at what the licence allows. Pass in an automatic and code 78 limits you to automatics, whereas a manual pass covers either. Get in touch, and we check an automatic car and instructor for Ballinroad.

The EDT: a guide
After every EDT hour, your instructor signs the logbook. Have it in the car each time. The book stays with you, and over 12 lessons it records the whole course. It does not decide when you are ready for Dungarvan. Your instructor does that, honestly, and never stretches the course to add hours.
