A lesson in Tuamgraney starts the moment your instructor pulls up at your agreed point, and it costs the same as in every other town we teach in. Any of three test centres is about 40 minutes away.
Learning to drive from Tuamgraney
We teach driving lessons in Tuamgraney one hour at a time, from home, school, work or a landmark like Tuamgraney National School, with an Approved Driving Instructor every time.
Collected near home
Tuamgraney National School is an easy landmark to meet at, and home or work suit just as well. Collection and drop-off come with every lesson at no extra cost.
Approved by the RSA
The instructor beside you is RSA-approved, and the car has a brake on each side. Your first drive across Scarriff Bridge can come early, with that support in place.
Nobody rushes you
Lessons are calm and the instructions clear. Nervous learners can spend as long as they need on a skill before moving to the next.
Ready, or not yet
Whether you plan to test in Nenagh, Ennis or Woodview, your instructor tells you honestly when you are ready. If you are not, you hear exactly why.
Manual and automatic taught
Both are taught. Pass in an automatic and your licence carries code 78, covering only automatic cars, while a manual pass covers both kinds.
What would help you
When you enquire, mention whatever would make learning easier, including a preference for a female instructor. It shapes who we match you with.

Manual driving lessons Tuamgraney
Your manual lessons from Tuamgraney begin with the essentials: clutch, gears, steering and stopping smoothly near your pick-up point. Once those feel natural, Scarriff Bridge and Market Square come in, along with junctions and mirror routines. The drives then lengthen bit by bit, because each test centre is about 40 minutes away and you need to be comfortable on longer runs. Manoeuvres are added along the way. The last lessons cover the area around your chosen centre.

Automatic driving lessons in Tuamgraney let the car do the gear changes while you learn to read the road. For the longer drives toward a test centre, that can mean one less thing to think about. What you give up shows on the licence. A pass in an automatic carries code 78, restricting you to automatic cars, and a pass in a manual covers both. If you choose automatic, we confirm the car and instructor for Tuamgraney when you get in touch.

EDT lessons in Tuamgraney
You complete Essential Driver Training before the driving test: 12 lessons with an Approved Driving Instructor, signed off one by one in your logbook. In Tuamgraney, every one of those lessons begins at the point you agreed, such as home or Tuamgraney National School.
Some foreign licences qualify for a reduced course of six lessons, so tell us about yours when you enquire. A full EDT course in a manual comes to €587.95. You can pay online or by phone, and vouchers for 1, 3, 6 or 12 lessons make a useful gift.
The EDT guide ↗Choosing a centre from Tuamgraney
Three test centres are about 40 minutes from Tuamgraney by road: Ennis at 33.8 km, Woodview in Limerick at 33.9 km and Nenagh at 36 km. Shannon is a little further, about 45 minutes. Since the drive is similar, the date is usually what decides it, and your final lessons follow your choice.
Shortly before the test, the pretest gives you one hour of driving in the area around that centre. Car hire for the test is included, so you sit it in the car you have practised in. With an automatic, the pretest package costs €193.81. It is booked and paid for like any other lesson, online or by phone.
Tuamgraney lessons, near and far
Your first hours are spent close to your pick-up point, getting used to the car. Scarriff Bridge and Market Square come next, as moving off and stopping become automatic. Longer drives follow, building toward the 40-minute trip to whichever test centre you booked.
Tuamgraney National School is the meeting point we name here, if home is hard to direct someone to. Home, school or work are fine too. At the end of the lesson you are dropped back at your agreed point, and none of it costs extra.
Scariff is just 1.5 km from Tuamgraney in a straight line, and we teach there too. Ballina and Killaloe are further away, and lessons there follow the same terms. Working in Scariff? We can collect you from work rather than home.

The EDT: a guide
After each EDT lesson your instructor signs the logbook, and it goes home with you. Over 12 lessons it becomes a complete record of the course. A full book does not mean you are ready, though. Your instructor tells you that separately, and honestly, before you book Nenagh, Ennis or Woodview.
