Driving lessons Innishannon
What Innishannon learners get
Choosing driving lessons in Innishannon with us means one-hour lessons in a dual-controlled car. We collect you from your agreed point, and our test advice is honest.
Pick-up from the Parish Hall
We collect you from Innishannon Parish Hall, or from home, school or work, and drop you back at the end. There is no extra charge for that.
An RSA-approved ADI
Your instructor is approved by the RSA as an Approved Driving Instructor. With dual controls fitted, the instructor shares the braking while you find your feet on Main Street.
Nobody shouts
Calm lessons are how we teach. Nervous learners set the speed of progress here, and we never move you on before you feel settled.
Ready means ready
Wilton is only about 20 minutes away, which makes it tempting to book early. We will tell you honestly if you are ready, and what is missing if not.
Learn with or without a clutch
Both are taught. The difference shows on your licence: an automatic pass adds code 78 and restricts you to automatics, while a manual pass does not.
Picking your instructor
Say what is important to you about your instructor when you enquire. You can ask for a female instructor, and we confirm who is available for lessons from Innishannon before you book.

Manual driving lessons Innishannon
From your opening manual lesson, the aim is control: clutch, gears, moving off and stopping smoothly. Lessons start near the Parish Hall or your home and soon take in Main Street. As you improve, you spend more of each hour on Macroom Road, building speed control and forward planning. In the final stretch you drive full hour-long sessions with little help, and we tell you straight when you have reached test standard.

Learn in an automatic
Automatic driving lessons Innishannon
We teach automatic driving lessons in Innishannon for learners who want to put all their effort into the road rather than the gears. An automatic pass gives you a code 78 licence, for automatic cars only. A manual pass covers both, so think about which cars you will drive later. Instructor times vary, so the instructor and car are confirmed when you enquire.

Learning in Innishannon
Roads around Innishannon
Lessons begin near your pick-up point, with the early ones spent on Main Street getting the basics right. Once moving off and stopping come naturally, we add Macroom Road, where you can practise holding your speed and position over longer stretches.
Innishannon Parish Hall is the meeting point we offer, and it suits learners who would rather not be collected at home. If home, school or work suits you better, we agree that point instead and drop you back there after the lesson.
Bandon is 5.8 km away in a straight line, and we teach there too, as well as in Kinsale and Cork City. If you study or work in one of those, tell us, and we can plan lessons around where you spend your day.

EDT and the test
The EDT: a guide
A logbook like this one records your Essential Driver Training. After each of the 12 lessons, your instructor signs it off, so you and we can both see where you are. Once it is complete and your driving is at the standard the test asks for, we talk about a date at Wilton.
