EDT lessons in Shanagarry
Essential Driver Training gives your learning a fixed spine: 12 lessons with an Approved Driving Instructor, each one signed off in your logbook. From Shanagarry, every EDT lesson begins with pick-up at your home, your work or the school, as agreed.
Finishing all 12 does not automatically mean you are ready for the test, and we will say so if you are not. A licence from some other countries can mean a six-lesson course instead, which we confirm when you get in touch.

From Shanagarry, Wilton is the nearest centre at about 35 minutes and 40.6 km by road. Dungarvan, over the county line, is about 45 minutes away. Mitchelstown and the Mallow centre are further, at about 60 and 65 minutes. Any of them may still have an earlier date than Wilton does.
Because the drive is part of test day, the pretest matters. You get an hour of driving in the area around your centre shortly before the test, then the same car for the test. You start warmed up, in a car you know. Send us your date once the RSA confirms it, and we arrange the rest.
Where lessons from Shanagarry go
We begin your lessons near home and keep them there until steering, moving off and stopping take no effort. Old Road comes in once you are steady. Later lessons take you further out, one step at a time, as your confidence and control allow.
Holy Family National School is the one meeting point we name here, handy if you would rather not start from the house. Otherwise pick-up is at your home or work in Shanagarry, agreed with you in advance and included in the price.

Will you pick me up from home in Shanagarry?

Is Wilton or Dungarvan closer to Shanagarry?
Wilton is closer, about 35 minutes by road against about 45 for Dungarvan. Either is a fine choice. Apply for whichever has a date that suits, and we prepare you and book your pretest at that centre.
