Driving lessons Cappamore
Learning to drive from Cappamore
A good driving school in Cappamore should save you travel, not add to it. Your lessons start at the agreed pick-up, last an hour each, and run with an Approved Driving Instructor in a dual-controlled car.
Pick-up with every lesson
We come to you in Cappamore, whether that means home, school or a workplace. No lifts to Murroe or Doon, and nothing added to the price for the collection.
Taught by an Approved Driving Instructor
Each lesson is with an instructor approved by the RSA, and the car has a brake on the passenger side as well as yours. You will be glad of it on your first drive over Cappamore Bridge.
Nerves are fine here
Plenty of people start out anxious. Your instructor keeps the hour calm and the pace in your hands, and nobody in the car raises their voice.
A straight verdict, always
Whether you book Woodview or Tipperary, we only suggest a test when your driving is up to it. Until then, you hear plainly what still needs work.
Gearbox: manual or automatic
Both cars are taught. If you pass in an automatic, code 78 limits your licence to automatics, which a manual pass does not.

Manual driving lessons Cappamore
The first few manual lessons in Cappamore are spent on the controls: clutch, gears and a smooth start and stop. Junctions and roundabouts follow, and then the reversing exercises. Drives over Cappamore Bridge and Dromkeen Bridge come in as your control steadies, and the lessons stretch further as you do. In the last stage, your instructor plans the hours around whichever centre you chose, Woodview or Tipperary, so the pretest feels like more of the same.

Learn in an automatic
Automatic driving lessons Cappamore
Taking automatic driving lessons in Cappamore removes the clutch from the job, which leaves you more room to watch the road. Nothing else about learning or the test changes. The licence does: after an automatic pass it carries code 78, meaning automatic cars only, whereas a manual pass lets you drive both kinds. Instructor and car availability varies by town, so we confirm an automatic for Cappamore when you enquire.

To sit the driving test on a learner permit, you first need 12 lessons of Essential Driver Training with an Approved Driving Instructor. From Cappamore, each one starts at your agreed pick-up point and ends with a signature in your logbook.
The lessons follow on from one another, so you are learning to drive while you complete them, not ticking boxes. A shorter course of six applies to some foreign licence holders. Paid as one course, the 12 manual lessons come to €587.95.

Learning in Cappamore
Where lessons start in Cappamore
The first lesson starts near your pick-up point, with the car and its controls as the only job. As each skill settles, your instructor adds more: Dromkeen Bridge, then Cappamore Bridge, then longer drives at steadier speeds toward the end of the course.
There is no fixed meeting point in Cappamore. You choose home, school or work when you book, and your instructor collects you there and returns you afterwards, unless you have agreed a different drop-off. Tell us on the form which suits.
Murroe, 5.8 km away in a straight line, and Doon, 6.0 km away, are both towns we teach in. Newport, over the line in County Tipperary, is on our list too, so friends in different towns can each book with us.

EDT and the test
The EDT: a guide
Twelve EDT lessons means twelve signatures in the logbook, one at the end of every hour. Keep it with your permit and have both in the car each time you are collected in Cappamore for a lesson. With the last signature in, the question becomes which centre, Woodview or Tipperary, and when.

Cappamore questions
A few good questions
How do I decide between Tipperary town and Woodview?
Woodview and Tipperary town are both about 30 minutes away by road, so pick the one with the date that suits you. Your last lessons and the pretest are then planned around that centre.
Can I be collected from school in Cappamore?
Yes, if we agree the school as your pick-up point when you book. Home and work are fine too. Your instructor brings you back to the same point, or another one you have arranged.
How much does a lesson cost in Cappamore?
A single manual hour is €53.27, the same as everywhere we teach, with the pick-up included. The automatic hour and the course prices are on the tickets on this page.
What do I need in hand before I enquire?
Have your theory test passed and a learner permit from the NDLS. With those, send the form or call 021 2355558 and we arrange an Approved Driving Instructor to collect you in Cappamore.
