Driving lessons Killenaule
Killenaule lessons from day one
With driving lessons in Killenaule, you get an Approved Driving Instructor, a dual-controlled car and a pick-up point you choose. Thurles or Clonmel can be your test centre, and we plan for either.
Collected outside Centra
The Centra on Main Street makes an easy meeting point, and home or work suit just as well. Collection is always part of the lesson price.
An ADI with dual controls
Your instructor is an Approved Driving Instructor, approved by the RSA, and the car has a brake on each side. You will have it from your first drive along River Street.
Never rushed
Nerves are normal. Your instructor keeps the hour calm, and Cashel Road waits until you are steady on the basics.
A clear answer on the test
Before you apply for Thurles or Clonmel, we tell you whether you are ready. If you are not, you hear what is missing and how to fix it.
Gearbox choice
Both are taught. A manual pass licenses you for both kinds of car, while an automatic pass adds code 78 and keeps you to automatics.

Manual driving lessons Killenaule
Manual lessons in Killenaule begin with the controls near your pick-up: clutch, gears, steering and braking smoothly. When moving off and stopping are routine, junctions and roundabouts follow, then reversing. River Street and Bailey Street are early drives, and Church Lane and Cashel Road come in as your confidence grows. Later lessons travel further, and the last few are spent in the area around Thurles or Clonmel, whichever you booked.

Automatic driving lessons Killenaule
Automatic driving lessons in Killenaule have no clutch to learn, so new drivers can focus on observation and road sense. The test is the same one. An automatic pass, though, puts code 78 on your licence, meaning automatic cars only, while a manual pass covers both. Tell us at the start if you want an automatic, and we check who can teach you in Killenaule.

Getting ready for the test
Choosing your test centre
From Killenaule, Thurles is 18.9 km by road, about 25 minutes, and Clonmel 28.1 km, about 30. Both are within easy reach for the last lessons and the pretest. Tipperary town is about 40 minutes away, and Nenagh, at about 65, is the furthest. Choose the one with the date that suits you.
The pretest is one hour in the area around your chosen centre, booked for shortly before the test, with car hire for the test included. For the manual version, budget €183.63. You test in the car you have been learning in, which takes away one more unknown. Book it through the form or by phone.

Learning in Killenaule
Killenaule streets and beyond
The first lesson stays near your pick-up while you get to know the car. River Street and Bailey Street come in early, then Church Lane, and Cashel Road follows once you can hold a steady speed, and the drives get longer from there.
Being met at the Centra suits learners who are already in town, while others prefer home or work. Agree the point when you book, and you are dropped back there or at another agreed point at the end of the hour.
Measured in a straight line, Littleton lies 9.5 km off and Fethard 11.3 km. We also cover Two-Mile Borris, 11.9 km away. Lessons in each start from a pick-up in the learner's own town, at the same prices as here.

EDT and the test
The EDT: a guide
The logbook is how EDT is recorded: twelve entries, each signed by your instructor before you get out. Learners in Killenaule bring it to every lesson with their permit. Once it is full, your instructor tells you honestly whether you are ready to apply, and if not, what to practise first, before booking.
